Gurgaon: The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) in collaboration with Smart-E company will launch 1,000 e-rickshaws service at 5 Metro rail stations across the Gurgaon on Monday, to provide safe last-mile connectivity in city.
Nitin Gadkari, Union minister of road transport, will inaugurate the service at the HUDA City Centre metro station at 5pm.
Also, the service will cover the IFFCO Chowk, MG Road, Sikandarpur & Guru Dronacharya metro stations.
- Drivers will be police verified & the vehicles will be given a dedicated parking spot, along with an area where the batteries can be charged, according to DMRC officials.
- The vehicle has a maximum seating capacity of 4-5 passengers and is expected to cover distances of around 5kms.
- The fares for the service is expected to start from Rs 10 per passenger on a sharing basis & Rs 30 on a non-sharing basis.
