Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has awarded two key contracts for architectural finishing works to Godrej & Boyce and SS SS Constructions worth Rs. 117.71 crore. The contracts cover seven underground stations on the Aerocity–Tughlakabad corridor (Golden Line) under Phase-4, marking a significant step towards the timely completion of this important metro line.
Introduction:
DMRC has taken a significant step forward in the development of its Phase-4 expansion by awarding two major contracts for architectural finishing works on the Aerocity–Tughlakabad corridor (Golden Line).
Contract Awarded to Godrej & Boyce Mfg. Co. Ltd:
Godrej & Boyce has been entrusted with Contract DC-07A worth Rs. 49,99,70,132.33, covering comprehensive architectural finishing works at three underground stations-
- Maa Anandmayee Marg
- Tughlakabad Railway Colony
- Tughlakabad
Contract Awarded to SS SS Constructions Private Limited:
SS SS Constructions Pvt. Ltd. has secured Contract DC-08A worth Rs. 67,72,54,904 for comprehensive architectural finishing works at four underground stations-
- Aerocity
- Mahipalpur
- Vasant Kunj
- Kishangarh station
Recent Updates on Aerocity–Tughlakabad Corridor (Golden Line):
- IGNOU Station Breakthrough: A 1,460-meter tunnel built using Earth Pressure Balance Method (EPBM) was successfully completed, marking the deepest underground section in Phase-4.
- Kishangarh–Vasant Kunj Breakthrough: Another milestone was achieved with a 1,550-meter tunnel breakthrough using a 91-meter-long Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM), with parallel tunnelling work underway and expected to complete by June 2025.
- IGNOU Station Breakthrough: 1,475-meter long tunnel excavated at average depth of 26 meters using TBM at IGNOU station marked a significant step towards Delhi metro’s connectivity.
Conclusion:
With these contracts, the Aerocity–Tughlakabad corridor is rapidly progressing toward timely completion.
