Ghaziabad: The trial runs for the stretch between Dilshad Garden in Delhi and New Bus Stand in Ghaziabad will begin in March 2018. This was announced on Tuesday at a review meeting called by GDA vice-chairperson & district magistrate Ritu Maheshwari with DMRC officials.
- In the review meeting with DMRC officials, we were told that 85% of civil work on 9.41-km Dilshad Garden-New Bus Stand Metro line has been completed while structural work on 12 metro station buildings have also been over. At this rate the trial run could begin in March 2018,” Ritu Maheshwari, vice-chairperson, GDA, said.
- According to the district magistrate, the problem of acquiring land for the fire escape route at 5 places along the 4 proposed Metro stations has now been resolved.
- “We informed DMRC officials that the land for fire escape route at Saheed Nagar and at one place at Rajbagh Metro station have been acquired while at Mohan Nagar and another spot at Rajbagh metro station, we have got consent from the private parties with whom we were in talks with to part with the land,” said Maheshwari.
- Meanwhile, work on the entire viaduct of 9.6 km is complete except for two spans, which will also be completed by end of this month
