Ghaziabad: The GDA (Ghaziabad Development Authority) & NCRTC (National Capital Region Transport Corporation) will jointly carry out a survey of the area earmarked for developing stations for Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut RRTS (Rapid Rail Transit System) corridor.
The survey will be carried out on Friday for the proposed six stations in Ghaziabad, according to GDA officials.
- GDA officiating vice-chairperson Ravinder Godbole,”The six stations selected by NCRTC for developing rapid rail stations are Sahibabad, Ghaziabad city, Guldhar, Duhai, Muradnagar and Modinagar. On Friday, we will carry out a joint survey with NCRTC officials of the areas around these proposed stations.”
- Godbole said,”Inspections will be done to access the feasibility of these stations, as there are plans to develop the areas around 1.5km radius of these stations under transit-oriented development. In addition to this, the RRTS station at Sahibabad will be integrated with Arthala Metro station. For that, we need to work out a composite plan with NCRTC.”
- The work on the 90km RRTS corridor is expected to begin in March 2018.
- The cost of the project has been pegged at around Rs 32,500 crore (approx US$ 5000 Million), out of which UP government will shell out its share of about Rs 4,500 crore (approx US$ 692 Million).
