On Thursday, a meeting was held in this context under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary Rajiv Kumar with senior officials of the metro rail project.
First Phase Of Metro Rail In Meerut To Merge With RRTS Project
Kumar said,“Since the proposed alignment of the RRTS project in Meerut was almost similar to that of Meerut metro rail project corridor-1, it was felt that both the projects should be executed in a combined manner. This will ensure better coordination and ease financial burden by cost-sharing between the state governments.”
Work on the phase-I, from Pratapur, Meerut to Modi Puram would be undertaken simultaneously along with the metro rail project corridor-II, which would from Shradhapuri & go up to Jagriti extension, he said.
Work on other corridors of RRTS & metro project would be done in the second phase, he said.
