Mumbai: Civil works for the 508 km long Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train corridor is set to begin in June this year, as railway authorities changed the date of completion from 2023 to August 15, 2022. The Mumbai-Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail Corridor (MAHSR) is a visionary move to upgrade India’s rail network.
“Geo-technical surveys have already been done and civil works will begin in June 2018 after we receive the green signal for the entire corridor,” A NHSRCL (National High-Speed Rail Corporation Ltd) official said.
There have also been tests beneath the sea bed for the underground section of this project.
This indicates that the project could extend from Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC) to Boisar; 7 km of the total 21 km journey would be beneath the sea.
