Srinagar: On Thursday, chief secretary B B Vyas chaired the 6th Apex Committee meeting to review the progress of USBRL (Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Rail Link) Project.
The latest status in regard to land acquisition in various sections of the Katra-Banihal Rail line in Reasi & Ramban districts and 132 KV Transmission Line from Katra-Reasi & Ramban-Sangaldan was reviewed in the meeting.
- Vyas noted with satisfaction the progress achieved in resolution of bottlenecks and asked DCs of Reasi & Ramban districts to complete the land acquisition proceedings at the remaining project sites in the next Ten days.
- Also, the Forest Department was asked to expedite the proceedings in regard acquisition of forest land.
- Vyas asked the Railway authorities to ensure that the pending compensation amount on account of land acquisition is released to the DCs immediately for timely disbursement to the land owners.
- Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), USBRL Project, Administrative Secretaries of the Departments of Planning, Power Development, Forest, Revenue, Divisional Commissioner, Jammu, Deputy Commissioners of Reasi & Ramban and other senior officers of the State Government and Railway Authorities were present in the meeting.
