Chennai: The Chennai Metro Rail (CMRL) in partnership with the Power Grid Corporation of India will set up electric vehicle (EV) charging facility at 4 metro stations.

The 4 stations are-

  • Koyambedu
  • Thirumangalam
  • Alandur
  • St. Thomas Mount

More Information:

  • Talks are on for procuring e-cars & e-bikes and each station will have 5 such cars & 10 bikes.
  • A commuter who wants to use an e-bike or an e-car can charge it at a special charging point at the 4 stations.
  • An official said,“We are looking at various options for providing last-mile connectivity for passengers. In this plan, we will get revenue for leasing out our space and talks are on with a firm for supplying e-bikes and e-cars.”
