Chennai Metro Phase-2 hits milestone: Grade separator work completed on Corridor-4

Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL) has achieved a significant milestone in Phase-2 with the completion of grade separator work on Corridor-4 between Mullaithottam and Karayanchavadi. A motor trolley and an RRV were successfully transported, advancing the project towards its goal of operational readiness by late 2025.

  • CMRL successfully completed grade separator works between Mullaithottam and Karayanchavadi stations, a crucial step in reducing traffic congestion and improving urban mobility.
  • The construction progress was marked by the successful transportation of a motor trolley from Poonamallee Depot to Mullaithottam Station at Pier No. 424, the designated starting point of the grade separator work.
  • The development of Phase II, added three new corridors spanning 118.9 km and 128 stations.
