Vadodara: National High Speed Rail Corporation Limited (NHSRCL) has signed an agreement with Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (PGCIL) for diversion of 220 KV & 400 KV transmission lines in Gujarat and Maharashtra for upcoming Bullet Train Project from Ahmedabad to Mumbai.
- There are 25 lines which are spread between Gujarat & Maharashtra.
- On this occasion, Executive Director, WR-II, Shri D.K. Singh and Chief Project Manager, NHSRCL, Shri Pradeep Ahirkar were present along with other senior officials from NHSRCL and PGCIL.
- The total estimated cost of project is Rs. 279 Crore.
- It is to be executed by January 2020.
Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID, the ‘Central Transmison Utility (CTU)’ of the country and a ‘Navratna’ Company operating under Ministry of Power, is engaged in power transmission business with the responsibility for planning, implementation, operation and maintenance of inter-State transmission system and operation of National & Regional Power Grids.
POWERGRID has been implementing various transmission projects for generation capacity addition under central sector, Ultra Mega Power Projects (UMPPs), Independent Power Producers (IPPs) and other projects.
NHSRCL is a joint venture of Government of India and participating state governments for implementing High-Speed Rail Projects. Currently, NHSRCL is implementing the project of high-speed train corridor between Ahmedabad and Mumbai. The total length of proposed High-Speed Railway Corridor works out to be 508.17km.
