Bhopal Metro MD, Shri S.K. Chaitanya inspects Orange Line works and Subhash Nagar Depot for priority corridor

Shri S. Krishna Chaitanya, IAS, Managing Director of Madhya Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation Limited (MPMRCL), conducted an extensive on-site inspection of the Bhopal Metro Rail Project – Package BH03. The inspection focused on evaluating the ongoing works along the Orange Line elevated corridor and reviewing infrastructure development at significant metro stations and the Subhash Nagar Depot.


Focus on Orange Line Priority Corridor – Package BH03:

In a significant step, Shri S. Krishna Chaitanya conducted a field inspection of the Bhopal Metro Rail Project – Package BH03. The inspection covered the elevated metro stretch between Karond Chauraha and Pul Bogda. This section is a key part of the Priority Corridor of Bhopal Metro’s Orange Line.

Stations Inspected by the MD:

The inspection included critical stations on the Orange Line elevated corridor such as AIIMS, Alkapuri, and the DRM Office. The focus was on structural readiness and station amenities. These stations fall under the Bhopal Metro Priority Corridor, which is a major focus area for ensuring rapid metro development in the city.

Key Aspects Reviewed at the Metro Stations:

  • Entry and Exit Structures: Ensured passenger movement pathways are planned for easy access and safety.
  • Lifts and Escalators: Inspected for installation progress and functional readiness.
  • Control Room Facilities: Reviewed control room space and connectivity for operations.
  • Beautification Works: Assessed both internal and external design and aesthetic elements.
  • Passenger Amenities: Checked overall layout for passenger convenience and accessibility.

Comprehensive Review of Subhash Nagar Depot Facilities:

  • Administrative Building: Verified layout and ongoing construction status.
  • Sub-Station and Electrical Systems: Reviewed power supply setup for metro operations.
  • Inspection Bay and Track Works: Evaluated readiness of track alignment and train maintenance bays.
  • Road Infrastructure: Monitored internal road development for smooth vehicle and equipment movement.
  • Boundary Wall and Security: Checked perimeter security and physical demarcation of the depot premises.

The Managing Director’s field inspection reinforces MPMRCL’s commitment to timely delivery and operational excellence for Bhopal Metro.
