Balance Section of LMRC’s North-South Corridor All Geared Up For CMRS Inspection; MD Reviews The Progress of Finishing Work

Lucknow Metro’s balance section of the North-South corridor (phase 1-A) is all set for the upcoming Commissioner of Metro Rail Safety (CMRS) inspection scheduled to be held soon. Shri Kumar Keshav, Managing Director, Lucknow Metro Rail Corporation (LMRC) today reviewed the progress of ongoing finishing work at the Munshipulia, Lekhraj Market & Badshah Nagar Metro stations.


The testing of lifts and escalators which had earlier been installed is being carried out rigorously along with installation and testing of other electrical equipments and lighting. Moreover, the public announcement system and signage have also been installed.


During the inspection MD, LMRC also instructed the Metro staff and civil contractor to speed up the repair work of the roads running along the viaducts in the balanced elevated section of North-South corridor(phase 1-A) from KD Singh Stadium to Munshipulia. In addition to it, the automatic Entry/Exit shutter gates at the Metro stations have also been fitted along with other ventilation and public utilities.

Keeping in mind the commuter safety and security, CCTVs have also been installed for surveillance and will be directly monitored and operated from the Operations Control Center (OCC). These safety/security related systems make the Lucknow Metro one of the safest modes of urban Mass Rapid Transit System (MRTS) that will provide an enjoyable commuter experience by offering state of the art-most advanced passenger centric facilities and utilities. It will also inculcate the idea of ‘Smart Travel’ among the Lucknowites.
Lucknow Metro will be plying along the entire North-South corridor from CCS Airport to Munshipulia soon.
