Kochi: Axis Bank & 7 Private Bus Operating companies of Kochi signed the agreement to implement electronic ticketing in all the buses plying in the city and also accept Kochi1 card across transportation channels. The agreements were signed between Shri. Sanjeev Moghe, Executive Vice President, Axis Bank, Shri. P. T. Suresh, Director, PayCraft Solutions and the 7 LLPs.
- With this, Kochi will move closer to being the only metro city in India to have an integrated transportation system with a single ticket, a single timetable and single command and control, which would enable the commuters to have a seamless transit experience.
- APM Mohammed Hanish, Managing Director, KMRL said,“The new system will bring about extensive usage of the metro card and will go a long way in ensuring multimodal integration of transportation facilities.”
- Chief Guest of the event, Shri. A. K. Saseendran, Minister of Transport was presided over by Kochi Mayor Smt. Soumini Jain in the ceremony joined by Ernakulam city MLA Shri. Hibi Eden, Transport Secretary Shri. K. R. Jyothilal, KMRL MD Shri. Mohammed Hanish and other senior officials from KMRL, Axis Bank, and Motor vehicle department.
