Vijayawada: Representatives of 5 international consortia which have been shortlisted by the AMRC (Amaravati Metro Rail Corporation) for preparing the DPR (Detailed Project Report) for the proposed Light Metro Rail project in Vijayawada, participated in a pre-bid meeting held at the AMRC office on Friday.
The 5 International Consortia Are-

GRE Gauff Railway Engineering
Egis Rail SA
State Had Decided To Go For LRT System-
The GoAP (Government of Andhra Pradesh) had decided to go for a Light Rail Transit (LRT) system following the Ministry of Urban Development’s request to re-submit its original proposal (medium metro) in compliance with the new metro rail policy, AMRCL Managing Director N.P. Ramakrishna Reddy said.
The objective of the fresh DPR was to introduce an integrated and environment and climate-friendly light metro/light rail system in Vijayawada and the bidders were supposed to validate various Mass Rapid Transit System options.
They are expected to assess the different design options of a light metro/light rail system and also work out the financial & economic internal rates of return.
