Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has awarded Shri Kaila Construction a Rs. 22 crore contract for enhancing maintenance facilities at the Yamuna Bank Depot. The scope consists of track installation, civil works, and pre-engineered building (PEB) structures under Phase-3 of the Delhi MRTS Project, to be completed in 24 months.
Introduction:
Marking a pivotal move to reinforce its maintenance infrastructure, Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has awarded a contract to Shri Kaila Construction for comprehensive development work at the Yamuna Bank Depot. This depot serves both Standard Gauge and Broad Gauge corridors and plays a vital role in the upkeep of Delhi Metro’s expanding network.
The contract costs Rs. 22,06,20,105.30 is scheduled to be executed within 24 months.
Scope of Work:
- Supply, Installation, Testing & Commissioning of Ballastless and Ballasted Track
- Associated Civil Works
- Design, Fabrication, Supply, Erection & Roof Sheeting for Pre-Engineered Building (PEB) structures
This project forms a part of the augmentation of additional maintenance facilities for both Standard Gauge and Broad Gauge corridors under Delhi MRTS Phase-3. With the increase in operational corridors and train sets, this augmentation is vital to ensure streamlined operations, reduced turnaround times, and better servicing of rolling stock.
About Yamuna Bank Depot:
Located strategically, the Yamuna Bank Depot is a key interchange point and houses maintenance lines for both types of gauges. The planned upgrades will enhance its capacity to manage and maintain additional trains that will be inducted in the coming years under Phase-3 and beyond.
