For designing and construction of Metro Rail corridor from Chaudhary Charan Singh Airport Metro station to Munshipulia Metro station, consisting 21 stations & one Depot of the Lucknow Metro Rail Project Phase– 1A with a total length of approx. 23 kilometres, Lucknow Metro Rail Corporation (LMRC) has achieved an upgraded Integrated Management System (IMS) certification for International Organisation for Standardization (ISO) 14001:2015 & the Occupational Health & Safety Assessment Series (OHSAS) 18001: 2007.
In the past, LMRC had initiated certification of OHSAS 18001: 2007 & ISO 14001:2004 during the construction phase of the ‘Priority Section’ from Transport Nagar to Charbagh station and one Depot . In June, 2017, it had achieved the International Organisation for Standardization (ISO) 14001: 2004 & the Occupational Health & Safety Assessment Series (OHSAS) 18001: 2007 and now in continuation to it, the Corporation has achieved the upgraded version of ISO 14001:2004 to ISO 14001:2015 and OHSAS 18001:2007 for the balance section.
In addition, the agencies involved in the construction has also achieved both the certifications to work in line with the LMRC goal to maintain and provide a safe & healthy environment for their staff, workers and society in large.
The scope of activities covered by these certificates includes the civil construction works of all the Metro stations between the Chaudhary Charan Singh Airport Metro station and the Munshipulia Metro station. ISO 14001 is an Environmental Management System (EMS) which provides a structure for measuring and improving an organization’s environmental impact while OHSAS 18001 is an Occupational Health and Safety Management System (OHSMS) which provides a system for measuring and improving an organization’s health and safety impact.
